ABOUT US 關於我們

About Our Organization 關於我們的組織

Asian American Association of Boston (AAAB) was  founded on July 1st, 2010, in Quincy as a 501c non-profit organization, and move to Boston after September 2012. In 2016, with the permit from Mr. Charlie Baker, the former Governor of Massachusetts, and Mr. Martin Joseph Walsh, the former Mayor of Boston, our group have the exclusive festival “Asian American Day”. 


波士頓亞美聯誼會(Asian American Association of Boston,簡稱 AAAB)成立於 2010 年 7 月 1 日,最初在昆西(Quincy)作為一個 501(c) 非營利組織運作,並於 2012 年 9 月後遷至波士頓。2016 年,在前麻薩諸塞州州長查理·貝克(Charlie Baker)與前波士頓市長馬丁·約瑟夫·沃爾什(Martin Joseph Walsh)的許可下,我們的團體獲得舉辦專屬節日「亞美節」的資格。

The AAAB's Board of Directors currently consists of 14 members, including 11 board members and 3 executive officers. They are top talents from various industries in Boston's Asian American community.

Our History

2010

On July 1st, the "Asian American Association" was established, originally named in English as "AAA of Quincy". On August 8th, the establishment party of the Asian American Association was held at the Longfeng Restaurant in Quincy City. Quincy Mayor participated in the celebration. In October, the federal government approved AAAB as a 501c non-profit organization, and obtained a tax-free tax number.

2011

On February 20th, The Asian American Association Spring Festival Gala was successfully held at 28 Hatward St, Quincy; And announced the official establishment of the Asian American Art Troupe. On June 26th, the first Asian American Festival was successfully held in Longfeng Restaurant, Quincy City.

2012

On August 6th, the office of Asia American Association was relocated to Boston, English Name officially changed to Asian American Association of Boston. On August 10th, The 2nd Asian American Festival was successfully held at the Quincy High School Auditorium and invited the Guangzhou Little Angel Symphony Orchestra to Boston and New York for exchange performances.

2013

On September 7th, The 3rd Asian American Festival was held in the Auditorium of Quincy High School to celebrate the establishment anniversary. Artists from China and Harvard Symphony Orchestra, Asian American Art troupes, etc. was invited and showed the essence of Asian culture with gymnastics, musical instrument performance, singing and dancing, and showed the talent of Asian community. In November, Vice Chairman Klysler Yen and Director Wang Tianqi visited Gansu Province on behalf of the Asian American Association ,and worship the Yellow Emperor's Tomb, and discuss the affairs about "Three Imperial Palaces" with the Zhengding County authorities.

2014

On January 18th, the Asian-American Association and its partners held a friendly meeting at the MIT Venture Building. On May 17th, the dance drama "The Big Dream of Dunhuang" was performed in Quincy High School. On August 2nd, the 4th Asian American Festival Gala was held at the Fenway Center of Northeastern University. Nearly 300 spectators and actors gather to celebrate this Boston's festival of Asian and American people.

2015

On January 20th, the Asian American Art Troupe went to Guangzhou, Jiangmen and Yunan and held four performances. On September 20th, the 5th Asian American Festival was successfully held at

the Marriott Hotel in Burlington, Massachusetts, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Rep. Michael E Capuano, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Massachusetts House of Representatives, Quincy Mayor Tomas. Koch, Morton Mayor Gary Christenson, etc. send a congratulatory letter. Pham Wennan, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Massachusetts, Massachusetts Senator Lewis, Zian Huang, Burlington Mayor Robert Hogan, Zhonghua Club President Hong Can Ruan and other dignitaries attended and delivered speeches, Harvard Kennedy School Professor Tony Sage's wife, Harvard Fairbank Center researcher Yinyin Zeng also attended the ceremony.

2016

On September 10th, the 6th Asian American Festival was successfully held in park of Boston. Governor Baker and Boston Mayor Weish officially designated the second Saturday of September every year as the "Asia American Day" in Massachusetts and Boston.

2017

 On February 17th, Signing Ceremony of Strategic Cooperation between Asia-American Club and Yuexinhui’s Smart Women Platform was successfully held at Joy Heart Club. On September 9th, The 7th Asian American Festival was successfully held in Boston Common, with more than 100 merchant’s Booths were set up on the spot, and more than 20 Asian groups participated in the performance, more than 30,000 People visit the ceremony. personally delivered a speech at the scene about "Asian American Day" statutory document.

2018

On September 9th, the 8th Asian American Festival was successfully held in park of Boston. Dozens Non-profit organizations, life service businesses, food and beverage restaurants and Art workshop participate and set up booths to provide information and services. On October 1st, the partnership agreement between Asian American Association, the National Italian Alliance, and the Italian Heritage Month Committee was signed. Derio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, presided over the ceremony.

2019

On March 1st, Asia-American Association and Guangzhou Taishan Chamber of Commerce signed a strategic partnership in Guangzhou China Hotel. This day was also the inauguration of the new staff of Guangzhou Taishan Chamber of Commerce ceremony. Yun Long Zhen represented the Asian American Association sent a commemorative calligraphy gift to Shao Zhao, the chairman of the Guangzhou Taishan Chamber of Commerce. From June 23rd to 29th , the "China-U.S Photo Exhibition of the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations" was jointly held with the Chinese Consulate in New York in Boston's Central Park, and the Massachusetts and Boston Congress sent a letter to congratulate. On September 15th, the 9th Asian American Festival was successfully held at Weston Castle. Congressman of Boston and representatives of the Chinese Consulate General in New York and other dignitaries attended.

2020 - 2021

On September 26th, 2020, the 10th Asia-American Festival held an online concert for the first time. Director of Asian American Association, Chairman of Jingpin International Art Education, Mrs. Meixia Chen guided the whole process, the students of Jingpin International Art Education completed their performance.

 

On August 1st,2021, “Asia American Life Salon” was established in Shinhong trading, Chinatown, Boston. On November 20th, the 11th Asian American Festival, and the Asian American Charity Auction Dinner, at Quincy Dragon Phoenix Restaurant was successfully held.

2022

On June 21st, the first "Asian and American Yearbook" of the Asian American Association was officially completed. The book consists of three chapters, which record the major events, current system, some important reports, and existing partners of the Boston Asian American Friendship Association since its establishment 12 years ago. On September 10th, the 12th Asian American Day Festival hold successful in Boston Common. Over 80 business booths and 10,000 tourists join and view the live show and events. Boston Mayor Michell Wu, Lowell Mayor Sokhary Chau, Boston council President Ed Flynn, Massachusetts State Dean Senator Marc Pacheco, Senator Paul

Donato, Will Brownsberger, and Lydia Edwards came and joined the opening ceremony.
