Asian American Presence in Quincy's History

This photography series was created by the Asian American Association of Boston (AAAB) photographer in collaboration with AAAB members, capturing a cultural fashion walk that blends Asian heritage, civic pride, and the historic identity of Quincy, Massachusetts.

Quincy is uniquely known as the birthplace of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, making it the only U.S. city to produce two American presidents. Set against iconic local landmarks—including Adams House, Granite Links, Marina Bay, and the Wollaston Beach Boathouse—the images connect cultural expression with shared public space.

Quincy’s historic neighborhoods and waterfront have also appeared in major film and television productions, including the HBO miniseries John Adams and other well-known Boston-area films. By placing Asian American cultural presence within these historically and cinematically

significant settings, AAAB affirms belonging, visibility, and inclusion while celebrating Quincy as a diverse and culturally vibrant city.

As the birthplace of two U.S. presidents and a recognized film location, Quincy provides a powerful stage where Asian American cultural expression connects history, community, and contemporary public life.
