Asian American Day is the largest outdoor cultural celebration of Asian Americans in Greater Boston. Hosted by the Asian American Association of Boston, it takes place on the first or second Saturday of September each year on Boston Common.
On September 10, 2016, the Asian American Day Festival made its debut at Boston Common. Governor Charles Baker and Mayor Marty Walsh officially designated the second Saturday of September each year as "Asian American Day" for Massachusetts and Boston.
Every year AADay has established over 80 on-site booths from nonprofit organizations and local businesses. We have received significant praise and support from Asian American businesses, artists, and residents in Boston and surrounding Massachusetts areas, as well as strong support from the Massachusetts State Senators, the Boston City Council, the Boston Common Management Office, the Police Department, and the Fire Department.
Today, the Asian American Day Festival has become one of the Asian American Association of Boston's key initiatives. We will continue to strive to develop the Asian American Day Festival into an even more high-quality platform for exchange among local communities, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
